Our new facility at the ocean view ridgetop opened February 2003.

We have multi-media classrooms, a Learning Center including videos, internet and plant selection software access, & a room for workshops, conferences, events .

Several benches are here to enjoy the panoramic ocean view!

The greenhouses & hoop houses are adjacent to Salvia & Fuchsia demonstration gardens.

A California natives demonstration entry courtyard exists and the southern side of the building is under development. Unit Pavers, decomposed granite fire access and large flagstones showcase current sustainable paving choices.

Fall 2009 semester, Landscape Construction students planted a southern hemisphere garden and will install a rainwater catchment system.

Most classes are open entry /prerequisite free, which means starting where you like with courses in Landscape Design,Construction, Greenhouses,Crop Production, Hydroponics, Propagation, Restoration Landscaping, Sustainable Landscaping, LandCADD, Garden History, Pond Building, Organic Agriculture, Integrated Pest Management, Soils, Plant Identification and Arboriculture.

A course on Aquaponics is planned.

Please come to our Fall Lecture Series -5 lectures on sustainable agriculture/ landscape practices.
Lectures begin Thursday September 24; including Aquaponics, Compost Tea, Rainwater Catchment , Healthy Lawn Care & ' Horticology' - the Garden as an ecosystem by founder Richard Merrill.

Dates: 9/24,10/3,10/17,11/4, and 11/19.

Talks run 7 p.m.-8:30; $10. each or $40. for the 5. Refreshments are served. Students attend free.

We have a 3-day Mother's Day Plant Sale and Holiday Poinsettia Sale in December with 33 different kinds . This fall 2009, the sale will be Wednesday, December 2 from 3-7 p.m.

Panoramic ocean views here are stunning. Come to the 'top of the hill' at Cabrillo for a visit !
